Our Story
Old Market Artists Gallery consists of thirteen local artists. Our intimate gallery is open daily and features a diverse collection of original paintings, photography, collage and folk art, fine woodworking, functional ceramics, fused and blown glass, and jewelry.
The Old Market Artists Gallery made its first appearance in the holiday season of 2006 featuring the founding members Tom Harnack, Robert Johnson, and Zach Jones as a Christmas Pop-up. Just a few months later in March 2007 the Old Market Artists Gallery had its charter opening adding charter members; Peg Watkins, De Johnson, Julie Kincaid, and Dan Klima. All founding and charter members have moved on to pursue other artistic marketing ventures. At the earliest operation the gallery featured twenty-five artists, but eventually converted to a team of twelve artists in the winter season of 2023 the team grew to be thirteen members. The current members: Frank Costanzo joined the gallery in September 2009, Curt Norman joined the gallery in August of 2010, Glenda Stone joined the gallery in July of 2012, George Garrett joined the gallery in April of 2013 leaving for about a year in March 2023 to focus his energies on Cali Commons before returning to the gallery in 2024. Each artist pays a rent fee monthly to keep the gallery functioning as well as working a weekly shift.
